The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is open! Visit
https://studentaid.gov to complete the FAFSA to apply for financial aid for college. In Texas, students must complete a FAFSA application or an opt-out form to graduate from high school. Share your FAFSA completion confirmation email with your counselor as proof for the graduation requirement. Opt-out forms are available in the FHS Counseling Suite for students who do not plan to fill out the FAFSA.
FHS is hosting a Senior Financial Aid meeting on Wednesday, October 15th from 6:00-7:00 in the PAC for seniors and parents. Texas Tech University financial aid representatives will give a presentation and be available for questions regardless of where you plan to pursue a post-secondary education.
Texas's Free College Application Week is October 13-19th for students submitting college applications through ApplyTexas. All application fees for Texas public institutions are waived during these dates! FHS counselors will be available on Wednesday, October 15th from 9:30-11:30 AM in the FHS cafeteria to assist students with their college applications. Bring your school-issued device and enter through door 7.
